Niceness....

I have decided that I'm going to try and be a bit nicer from now on, and not give in to my envious, curmudgeonly and chainsaw-wielding thoughts... Being a grumpy malcontent doesn't do anyone any good, least of all me.

So here, have a metaphorical pie of loveliness and benign thoughts from me, and enjoy your day! :)

It's that day again!

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody! Hope you all got a card and/or a nice pressie from your honeybunch...

I scored a very pretty card, a bunch of flame coloured roses and some Dairy Box chocolates! Yum! I got himself a cute card with a gerbil type animal on the front that goes 'eek! eek! eek!' when you open it up... well, I thought it was rather droll... LOL

a lovely compliment

My writing buddy Dayle A. Dermatis took this picture in a Powells Book Store in Portland, Oregon. Isn't it wonderful? :)

In spite of having proofs to correct, and an ever mounting list of jobs to do, yesterday was a complete washout. I had a naggling migraine all day, and with it being a weekend, and a shorter day due to a lie in, nothing whatsoever from my list got done. Spent most of the time either drowsing, or watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The latter was good, but not as good as the first in the series. I liked the lightness and colourfulness of the first one better, this was a bit too plot heavy. Okay, but not great...

Today is a shorter day too, and I'll probably not get a great amount done, esp. when himself gets back from his clay pigeon shooting and we get involved in chatting and maybe watching TV. We'll also be going out later [cos we didn't yesterday] so there'll be no evening work.

But tomorrow, I will be good and get on with those proofs and my other jobs! If I'm not around much, don't worry, I'm just a bit busy. :)

gaps...

Ack, did it again. Too busy to post. Too tired to post. Too distracted to think of anything fun and interesting to post. And it's not as if I haven't been having a nice time... I went to Manchester on Saturday and met two fabulous literary ladies, Madelynne Ellis and Janine Ashbless, who are Black Lace authors, just like me... Well, not just like me... because we all write different styles, of course.

Anyway, we spent several hours laughing and talking, dishing the dirt on writing and writers, and discussing our characters and plots, or lack of plots, in my case. We scoffed yummy food, drank delicious drinks and coffees and generally had a highly satisfactory time of it!

Here are some splendid piccies... well... splendid of Janine and Madelynne and almost human looking of me.... almost...

Madelynne again, with some old woman....

Was going to say... here's something utterly adorable to lift the spirits on a depressing Monday morning. Only I just realised it isn't Monday! It just feels like one after the Bank Holiday here in the UK.

Anyway, on visiting one of my favourite sites on the web, I saw this image... and I just felt an immediate lift in my happiness levels! If anyone is unaware of Cute Overload, oh, you really must try it. The site owners and contributors there just bring together the very best selection of images of... well... cuteness! Pictures of sweet, soul soothing animals to take the vexed mind off its worries and its woes. It's just pure medicine, it really is!
